Newcomers Bowling League Rules
2026 – 2027
1. Bowl weekly for 30 weeks on Wednesday beginning the Wednesday after Labor Day. We will not bowl on Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the week between Christmas and New Years.
2. Bowling fees will be $12.00. You will pay only on the days you bowl. Sanction cards are $27.00, paid first day of bowling, and if 73 or older association pays.
3. Teams will consist of 3 women.
4. We will cancel bowling on KPS snow days. On late starts we will bowl as usual.
5. One bowler from each team must bowl on each Wednesday. The other 2 bowlers could be put in as absent if needed.
6. If no one is able to bowl for your team please make the game up one week prior or one week later than the date missed.
7. Whoever bowls, whether a sub or team member is the person who pays that day.
8. Put the $12.00 bowling fee in the envelope and give to the Secretary. If the Secretary is not present give the envelope to the acting Secretary.
9. If a bowler arrives late it must be before the 4th frame and them can make the frames up. If bowling ahead to leave early it must be 7th frame or later.
10. If your team cannot bowl that day please let someone know so people are not waiting.
11. An average will be set the first week bowled.
12. The average is 200 minus 3 game average x .8= handicap.
13. If absent that day score is 10 pins less than average. Set that bowler as absent in the scoring machine. (Vacant score is 100).
14. The league will be divided into 2 halves. After 15 weeks the team with the most wins will be first half winner, same with the last 15 weeks. If there is a tie on either there will be a 3 game playoff TBD by the winning teams. If different teams win each half a 3 game playoff TBD to determine the league champion. If still tied after playoff a 10th frame will be bowled to determine the league champion.
15. If bowling a blind team each bowler will deduct 10 pins off her average and that will be the blind teams score.
